Calina Reserve Carmenere 2007
Calina Reserva Carmenere 2007
$6.99 -$10.99
Definite herbacousness and green pepper aromas along with it’s dark plum. Serious charcoal/graphite going on here. Tons of fruit, maybe too much. Tight acid is my problem with this wine. Maybe it’s just me, but tart fruit and acidity galore without much support equals pucker town USA.
I didn’t find it particularly round, maybe it was just a bad night. I don’t know. Yes, it is a fair price for what it gives. All I do know is that, to tell the truth, I still prefer Casillero del Diablo Carmenere 2007 for the same price. That is if you can still find it.
